We are looking for an AML/CFT Analyst to join our AML Department.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of working within the AML compliance fields and have a strong understanding of the payments and finance sector. A team player with solid analytical and communication skills in English. The AML Analyst will report directly to the MLRO.
Responsibilities:
• Escalate suspicious activity and/or transactions to the MLRO
• Collaborate closely with the first line of defense and be the point of reference for the Onboarding Officers in relation to CDD/KYC matters
• Maintain the international sanctions lists and other internal backlists
• Conduct second reviews of clients' applications (CDD/KYC, risk assessment and make sense analysis) and escalate where applicable
• Assist in conducting periodic client reviews and ongoing monitoring
• Monitor queues of alerts throughout the day to determine patterns of transaction activity between clients and counterparties
• Proactively identify anomalies in transactions and escalate such cases to the AML transaction monitoring manager
• Investigate the individual alerts to determine if there is potential suspicious activity and report such cases to the MLRO as required
• Assessing the jurisdictional relevance of the geographies of the transactions in between remitter and beneficiaries
• Maintain proper records of handled alerts together with the rationale for any decisions taken
• Any other matter as required by the business
Skills and experience:
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within an AML or Compliance environment
• Strong knowledge of AML laws and regulations
• Highly analytical and key attention to detail
• Possess good communication skills in English
• Experienced with using Microsoft tools especially Microsoft Excel
