HireHound Recruitment in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Street Sweeper Supervisor to join their client's team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

The Street Sweeper Supervisor is responsible for overseeing street cleaning operations and ensuring that assigned routes are properly maintained. This role includes managing a team of street sweepers, coordinating schedules, inspecting work quality, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and prior experience in street maintenance or municipal operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and Leadership

  • Supervise and lead a team of street sweepers, providing direction, support, and performance feedback.
  • Schedule and assign daily cleaning routes, ensuring efficient coverage of designated areas.
  • Monitor staff attendance and ensure that tasks are completed on time.

2. Quality Control and Inspections

  • Conduct regular inspections of streets and areas to assess the quality of cleaning and identify areas requiring special attention.
  • Address any issues or complaints regarding street cleanliness and take corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and environmental standards.

3. Training and Development

  • Train new employees on street sweeping equipment operation, safety procedures, and work protocols.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to improve team performance and safety awareness.

4. Equipment Management

  • Monitor the maintenance and operation of street sweeping equipment, ensuring that all vehicles and tools are in good working order.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Keep records of equipment usage, repairs, and any incidents.

5. Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including work completed, equipment usage, and employee performance.
  • Prepare reports on street cleaning activities, including costs, resource allocation, and any incidents.
  • Manage budgets related to street sweeping operations, including labor, equipment, and materials.

6. Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure all staff follow safety protocols and use protective equipment when necessary.
  • Stay updated on local regulations regarding street cleaning, waste disposal, and environmental protection.
  • Report any safety hazards, accidents, or incidents and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in street maintenance, public works, or a similar role.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of street sweeping equipment operation and basic maintenance.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to street cleaning.
