Laundry Supervsior

Malta Marriott Resort & Spa is currently looking to recruit a Laundry Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

This is where you come in. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper you will be responsible for the day to day running of our laundry department.

Responsibilities:

• Takes responsibility for the functions of the Linen room
• Leads the team members assigned to the linen room
• Ensure that laundry employees comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards
• Responsible for the employees’ uniform programme
• Picks up and delivers guest laundry as necessary
• Ensure that the Par stock levels are in place and controlled
• Ensures that any ironing/pressing of garments is done
• Ensure all dirty linen is separated and counted before going out for cleaning
• Receives and issues linen to all departments
• Sorts out discarded linen, keeps a record and informs the Executive Housekeeper of the discarded linen
• Assists in inventories and in stock-taking
• Performs any alterations needed
• Ensure compliance with legislated health and safety requirements within the workplace.

The ideal candidate will:

• Has similar experience in a four or five-star hotel
• Have excellent communication skills and can communicate well in English
• Have sewing knowledge
• Have strong leadership skills
• Be a team player
• Be organised
• Take initiative
• Be flexible with regard to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
