Laundry Supervsior

This is where you come in. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper you will be responsible for the day to day running of our laundry department.

Responsibilities:

• Takes responsibility of the functions of the Linen room.
• Leads the team members assigned to linen room.
• Ensure that laundry employees comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards.
• Responsible for the employees’ uniform programme.
• Picks up and deliver guest laundry as necessary.
• Ensure that the Par stock levels are in place and controlled.
• Ensures that any ironing/pressing of garments are done.
• Ensure all dirty linen is separated and counted before going out for cleaning.
• Receives and issue linen to all departments.
• Sorts out discarded linen, keep a record and informs the Executive Housekeeper on the discarded linen.
• Assists in inventories and in stock taking.
• Performs any alterations needed.
• Ensure compliance with legislated heath and safety requirements within the workplace.

The ideal candidate will:

• Has similar experience in a four or five star hotel.
• Have excellent communication skills and is able to communicate well in English.
• Have sewing knowledge.
• Have strong leadership skills.
• Be a team player.
• Be organised.
• Take initiative.
• Be flexible with regards to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
