Job Summary:

The Accounts Clerk is responsible for supporting financial operations of the organisation by performing various accounting and administrative tasks. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers. 
  2. Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system. 
  3. File and manage invoices, receipts, and other financial documents. 
  4. Process accounts payable and receivable transactions. 
  5. Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and payment vouchers. 
  6. Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies. 
  7. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports. 
  8. Support month-end and year-end closing processes. 
  9. Generate reports and summaries for management as needed.
  10. Maintain organised and secure financial files and records. 
  11. Perform data entry and ensure accuracy of financial data. 
  12. Assist with audit preparation and provide support during audits. 
  13. Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is preferred. 
  2. Proficiency in accounting software. 
  3. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. 
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  5. Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices. 
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
