Our client is one of the leading companies in the Aviation industry locally looking for an Assistant Tax Manager with the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Ensure that an up-to-date tax filing calendar for all group entities is maintained, to ensure all tax filing deadlines are met
Preparing monthly current and deferred tax provisions as part of the management reporting process
Communicating with the treasury team to ensure timely settlement of tax amounts due to the tax authorities
Overseeing the VAT Return preparation process and review the VAT workings
Ensuring tax calculations and workpapers prepared by external tax service providers are accurate and support tax positions taken on returns
Identifying tax risks and assisting Global Tax Director in advising management
Monitoring legislative changes in relevant jurisdictions
Skill-sets and Requirements
Minimum 4 years of work experience in tax and having work experience in aviation tax is considered as an advantage
Having an MIT Professional Certificate in Taxation or ADIT qualification is considered as an advantage
Good familiarity with accounting software packages
Strong communication skills, verbally and in writing
Education & Experience
University of Malta B.Acc (Hons) / M.Accty in Accounting or ACCA qualification
Good knowledge of both local direct tax regulations and VAT regulations. Knowledge of aviation and passenger tax regulations is considered as an advantage.
