Senior VAT Associate

Our client, a leading professional services firm, is seeking to recruit a VAT Senior to join its Tax team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns.
• Prepare and review VAT recap statements.
• Assist clients with VAT registrations, de-registrations, and ongoing statutory requirements.
• Support the planning and estimation of VAT work and assist with more complex client assignments.
• Assist in advising clients on Maltese VAT implications and developments.
• Support VAT audits, queries, and investigations.
• Liaise with the Malta Tax and Customs Administration on matters of interpretation.
• Assist in due diligence assignments related to VAT matters.
• Support the VAT team in developing new business opportunities.
• Assist with the preparation of technical publications.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant VAT experience.
• A Master’s in Accountancy, fully ACCA-qualified, or in the final stages of qualification.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail with an assertive approach.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Self-motivated and willing to learn.
• Ability to work under strict deadlines.
• Fluent in English.
