Our client, a well known CSP in Malta, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Tax Manager to join their growing Tax team.

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Senior Tax Manager to join our client's leadership team. In this role, you will lead and develop a Tax team while managing a mature and diversified client portfolio. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional client service, building strong relationships, and driving excellence across all areas of tax advisory and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Oversight:
    • Lead and manage the tax advisory and compliance team, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all deliverables.
    • Set clear goals, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback and guidance to team members.
  • Tax Compliance & Advisory:
    • Oversee the preparation and review of personal and corporate tax returns and other statutory filings.
    • Participate in provision of expert advice on tax planning strategies, risk management, and structuring opportunities.
    • Interpret and apply changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the organisation remains compliant and up to date.
  • Training & Development:
    • Design and deliver training programs to enhance team technical capabilities and professional growth.
    • Support continuous learning through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing.
    • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and ethical conduct.
  • Policies & Procedures:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain tax policies, procedures, and internal controls.
    • Review and update existing documentation to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.
    • Ensure robust documentation of tax positions, processes, and key decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Finance, Legal, Corporate) and external advisors to address any tax issues and support business initiatives.
    • Act as a subject matter expert to senior leadership on tax-related matters.
    • Represent clients in dealings with tax authorities, auditors, and external consultants.

Requirements:

  • A University degree in Accounting, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Further specialisation in taxation (e.g., Master’s in Tax, ADIT, MIT) is considered an asset.
  • Experience as a warranted accountant,specialising in taxation.
  • Proven track record in client relationship management.
  • Strong experience in direct and indirect tax work is highly valued.

  • Sound knowledge of the Income Tax Act.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting/tax software.
