Role Overview
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing a portfolio of local and international clients, ensuring that all accounting, tax, and compliance obligations are met efficiently. The role involves leading day-to-day accounting operations, mentoring junior staff, and providing clients with accurate and timely financial insights. Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee daily accounting activities, maintain accurate records, and prepare financial reports in line with statutory requirements.
  • Client Accounting: Handle financial and management accounting for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring compliance with local regulations and client-specific needs.
  • VAT and Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns, corporate income tax computations, and ensure adherence to relevant compliance deadlines.
  • Team Leadership: Support, train, and supervise junior accounting team members, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous professional growth.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to management on client accounts, performance, and key deliverables.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Education: Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of relevant experience in accounting or corporate services, preferably working with an international client base.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to explain financial matters clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative and approachable, with the ability to build lasting relationships with both clients and team members.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, with solid understanding of accounting software and reporting tools.
  • Organisation: Exceptional organisational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines and maintain high service standards.
  • Self-Motivated: Driven and proactive, with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker capable of identifying solutions and improving accounting processes for greater efficiency.
