Senior Accountant

An innovative international client of ours operating within the Pharmaceutical industry is currently recruiting a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team in Malta.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of financial reports
• Performing account reconciliations
• Maintaining the general ledger
• Preparing tax returns
• Assisting with audit preparations including drafting of financial statements
• Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with International Financial
  Reporting Standards
• Assisting with the month-end close and year-end close
• Reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Manage the junior accountants on the team
• Research and analyze expense variances for company management
• Preparation of VAT returns and related VAT compliance submissions

The client is also open to considering more junior candidates who are actively studying ACCA whose list of duties would be adapted according to one's experience. Naturally, the salary package would be reflected accordingly.

• Big 4 experience would be ideal
• Previous local experience in a similar position
• Knowledge of SAP system is considered an asset
• Knowledge of Excel and MS Office applications
• Ability to multitask with a can-do and follow-through attitude
