Job Summary:

The Night Audit Manager oversees the night audit operations in a hotel, ensuring accuracy in financial records, guest satisfaction, and smooth functioning of overnight operations. This role involves supervising night staff, managing guest inquiries, and performing accounting tasks related to the hotel's daily financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the night audit process, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Prepare and review daily financial reports, including revenue, occupancy rates, and other key performance indicators.
  • Supervise and manage night shift front desk staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints during the night shift, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Manage the check-in and check-out processes for guests arriving or departing during the night.
  • Monitor room availability and ensure accurate inventory management for the following day.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the hotel premises and guests during nighttime hours.
  • Train and mentor night shift staff on hotel policies, procedures, and customer service standards
  • Handle any emergencies or unexpected situations that arise during the night, including maintenance issues or guest emergencies.
  • Manage cash and credit card transactions, ensuring proper handling and security of funds.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and legal regulations, particularly regarding financial transactions and guest privacy.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for supplies needed during the night shift, such as linens and amenities.
  • Identify areas for improvement in night audit processes and guest services, implementing best practices to enhance overall efficiency.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Accounting, or a related field. 
  2. Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a hotel night audit or front desk role. Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting. 
  4. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities. 
  5. Proficiency in hotel management software. 
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  7. Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
