Junior Accountant

Our client operating within the Manufacturing sector is looking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their team:

Responsibilities:

• Prepare management accounts and statutory financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and support accounting staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily accounting tasks. 
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded. 
• Maintain accounting systems and subsidiary ledgers, ensuring proper, complete, and accurate record-keeping of company transactions in line with IFRS
• Provide expert guidance and direction to team members to ensure timely and accurate work.
• Manage and optimize the company’s debt collection process. 
• Oversee the end-of-year statutory audit process in collaboration with the Head of Finance.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist in ensuring compliance with tax regulations. 
• Contribute to the formulation and implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures. 
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning. 
• Other ad hoc duties as needed from time to time

• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting position, up to or assisted in the preparation of management accounts
• Fluent in written and spoken Maltese
• Meticulous with an eye for detail
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI will be considered an asset.
