Junior Accountant

Avenue 77 Limited in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis.

JOB ROLE:
Avenue 77 is a new mixed-use development in the Central Business District providing 10,000 m2 of state-of-the-art office space and over 1,200 m2 of retail and catering establishments.
This is a great opportunity for a full-time Junior Accountant to join our small team of professionals.
The ideal candidate will report directly to the financial controller and the company’s directors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Dealing with customers and suppliers
• Bookkeeping of customer and supplier invoices, bank reconciliation
• Cross-checking invoices with budgets
• Preparing payments and performing reconciliations related to the finance department
• Assisting in monthly closings and reports to management
• Assisting in the compilation of VAT returns
• Draft annual financial statements and liaising with auditors
• Provide various clerical support relating to the finance department
• Assisting the financial controller with any ad-hoc requests
• Liaise with clients/suppliers and/or their representatives on various ad-hoc matters from time to time.

SKILL-SETS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of an A-level in Accounting or equivalent. Candidates who will be in the initial stages of ACCA or equivalent will be given preference
• Have a good command of the English language
• Have a good background in using Microsoft software, mainly Word and Excel
• Experience is not a must, but candidates with previous experience in the accounting field will be given preference.
