Head of Accounting

Our client operates within the Energy sector and they are currently looking to recruit a Head of Accounting to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Lead the automation of processes in the company's ERP system (MS Navision)
• Act as a key point of contact between the company and key strategic contractorss
• Recruitment, training, mentoring and development of staff
• To manage the accounts payable function
• Manage the payment of invoices and principal and interest payments on loans
• To reconcile bank accounts, statements and records
• To liaise with external auditors and support in the preparation of supporting documentation
• To handle petty cash payments and cheques
• Prepare the consolidated management accounts and financial reports
• To manage the preparation of VAT returns
• Identify key areas of process improvements and automation
