Chief Financial Officer (Part time)

A client of ours, specialising in the Fintech industry, is looking to onboard a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer on a part time basis to join their team of professionals and oversee financial strategy, ensure compliance, and drive sustainable growth, with a focus in the European region:

Duties:

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with organisational goals.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team and board of directors to inform strategic decision-making, with a European focus.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Monitor and optimize the company’s cash flow, liquidity, and capital allocation.
• Drive cost-efficiency initiatives while supporting business expansion.
• Be aware about the unique challenges of the cryptocurrency sector. Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with Maltese financial regulations, cryptocurrency legislation, and global financial standards.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to manage audits and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain robust anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) processes.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market volatility and operational risks
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market volatility and operational 
• Manage relationships with investors, banks, regulators, and other financial partners.
• Prepare and present detailed financial reports and performance analyses to stakeholders

• Strong understanding of Mica is highly desired
• Minimum of (7) seven years of senior financial experience, with at least 3 years in the cryptocurrency or fintech industry
• Strong understanding of Malta’s financial and cryptocurrency regulations, and in particular MFSA regulations, guidelines, etc.
• Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred
