Role Overview

As an Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing audit engagements for a diverse clientele across various sectors. Your responsibilities will extend beyond planning, fieldwork, and reporting to encompass managing client relationships, leading audit teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Client Relationships: Lead and manage audit teams, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of audit engagements. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive audit strategies and plans, overseeing their implementation to achieve audit objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Review audit work performed by team members, ensuring adherence to professional standards and firm methodologies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess audit risks, implementing appropriate controls and procedures to mitigate those risks.
  • Business Development: Contribute to the growth of the firm by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Mentorship and Development: Mentor and coach junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and development.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant field. ACCA, Masters in Accountancy or equivalent qualification. 
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in audit, with demonstrated success in a managerial role.
  • Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Business Acumen: A deep understanding of business operations and financial reporting to provide valuable insights to clients.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Languages: Candidates to possess excellent English communication skills; proficiency in Maltese will be highly valued.
