Our client, a reputable group of companies in the hospitality, intellectual property and construction sector is looking to recruit an Assistant to the Financial Controller to join their Finance team. 

Working closely with the Finance Controller, your responsibilities will include assisting in preparing financial reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to the organization's overall financial well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Aid in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with different departments to gather financial data and provide decision-making support.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in managing internal controls and audit processes.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed.
  • Carry out general accounting tasks such as data entry and verification.
  • Provide training to staff on financial processes.
  • Supervise and oversee department activities, actively resolving any issues that arise.
  • Engage in training and development programs to enhance professional skills.
Skill-sets and Requirements
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or ACCA qualification preferred. At least 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting required. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software essential.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or ACCA qualification preferred.
