Accounts Team Leader

Our client, a large leading company in Malta is looking for a Accounts Team Leader to join their team 

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor and support the Accounts Payable team by allocating work, reviewing performance and providing ongoing coaching.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing, coding and recording of supplier invoices, expenses and payment requests.
• Review and approve payment runs, ensuring all payments are authorised, documented and processed within budget and deadlines.
• Manage key supplier relationships, resolve payment queries and oversee major vendor accounts, reconciliations and approvals.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records and ensure compliance with Company policies, financial controls and Maltese tax requirements.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, outstanding items and process issues, escalating where necessary.
• Prepare Accounts Payable reports, including ageing analysis, payment forecasts and outstanding balances, to support cash flow management.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and internal controls.
• Train and develop team members, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
• Lead the successful adoption of the new Accounts Payable system, coordinating training, supporting implementation and driving user adoption.

• Previous local experience in a similar role
