Accounts Clerk

Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations across a diversified group of business activities. This role is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills and a keen eye for detail who enjoys working in a structured and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and post daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Issue and reconcile invoices, supplier statements, and payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with petty cash management.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on payments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local VAT regulations and internal financial policies.
• Provide administrative support to the finance department as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently studying ACCA/AAT).
• 1–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance support role.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and local VAT procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with accounting software would be considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills in English (Maltese would be considered an asset).
