Accountant

Our client, within the FMCG industry is looking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team.

• Leading the month-end close process, ensuring financial results are completed accurately and within reporting deadlines.
• Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving outstanding reconciling items promptly.
• Supporting the year-end financial reporting process, including audit preparation and acting as a key contact for external auditors.
• Reviewing monthly inventory balances and partnering with the logistics team to improve stock accuracy and inventory controls.
• Preparing and submitting statutory indirect tax filings, including VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and Intrastat declarations.
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support strategic business objectives.
• Providing financial analysis, insights, and reporting to support operational improvements, business initiatives, and informed decision-making.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal financial policies and procedures.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting efficiencies.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Experience using Sage Intacct is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within an international or multi-entity organisation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
