Accountant

We are working with a pharmaceutical company who are looking for an Accountant to join their team. This person will report directly to the Head of Finance

What you'll be doing

• Prepare monthly management accounts and consolidated group reports, including variance analysis and supporting commentary
• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and rolling forecasts
• Track expenditure against approved budgets, ensuring compliance with internal controls while identifying risks and variances
• Handle VAT and tax matters in accordance with Maltese regulations, maintaining full statutory compliance
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors by supporting audit activities and resolving audit findings when necessary
• Supervise invoicing and payment administration processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely execution
• Evaluate production cost variances and deliver practical insights to improve operational performance

Requirements

• 2+ years of local experience in a similar role
• Ability to analyse and interpret cost variances within a production setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with SAP ERP is considered an asset
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Knowledge of Maltese taxation, particularly VAT
• Experience in manufacturing is a plus

Education and Experience

• Degree in Accounts or ACCA Qualified
