Our client, a leading company within the ship repair and industrial sector, is seeking an experienced Fleet, Tools and Facility Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of its fleet, operational equipment, and facilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational continuity by managing vehicles, production equipment, workshops, warehouses, dry docks, and company infrastructure while maintaining high standards of efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Management

  • Manage the company fleet, including passenger vehicles, vans, operational vehicles, forklifts, aerial work platforms, cranes, and other specialized equipment.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Monitor fleet operating costs, fuel consumption, and asset utilization.
  • Manage leasing agreements, rentals, purchases, and disposal of vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation, operational, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor insurance coverage, inspections, certifications, and mandatory documentation.

Tools and Production Equipment Management

  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and efficiency of shipyard tools and production equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and certification activities.
  • Manage inventories of tools, machinery, and specialized equipment.
  • Monitor the lifecycle of technical assets and develop replacement, renewal, and investment plans.
  • Optimize the allocation and utilization of equipment across projects, workshops, and operational areas.

Facilities and Infrastructure Management

  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of dry docks, workshops, warehouses, buildings, and operational areas.
  • Ensure the proper functionality of dry dock systems, including pumps, valves, dock gates, and related infrastructure.
  • Manage maintenance contracts and relationships with external suppliers and service providers.
  • Support facility upgrades, infrastructure improvement projects, and capital investments.
  • Monitor energy consumption and facility operating costs.

Compliance and Operational Support

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Support internal and external inspections, audits, and statutory verifications.
  • Ensure all equipment and facilities comply with regulatory requirements and certification standards.
  • Support Project Managers and Operations teams with the planning and allocation of vehicles, equipment, and technical resources.
  • Coordinate the transfer and redeployment of assets between facilities and project locations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Naval Engineering, Facility Management, or a related technical field. Candidates with a technical diploma and significant relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, industrial asset management, facility management, or maintenance management roles.
  • Previous experience within shipbuilding, ship repair, industrial manufacturing, plant maintenance, or large-scale infrastructure operations will be considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance management principles and asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience managing industrial equipment, lifting equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
  • Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost control, contractor management, and supplier coordination.
  • Proficiency in CMMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively within a dynamic and operational environment.
