An opportunity has arisen for an energetic person to join our maintenance department as a Plant Technician where you will be responsible for processing and completing work orders being reported and as instructed by the Chief Engineer.

To be successful as a Plant Technician, you must be honest and pleasant and have detailed knowledge of, and comply with all maintenance policies, procedures, and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on plant and building services equipment (pumps, motors, boilers, heat exchangers, chillers, generators, fire pumps, AHUs).

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and basic control system faults.

• Perform routine inspections of HVAC systems, domestic water systems, pool plant and emergency systems.

• Conduct generator and fire pump testing according to schedule.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards and equipment history logs.

• Monitor and manage spare parts and maintenance inventory usage.

• Follow health and safety procedures including Lock-Out/Tag-Out and permit-to-work systems.

• Assist in installation, modification and commissioning of new plant equipment and control systems.

• Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations.

• Support the maintenance team and complete ad hoc technical tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Secondary school education or equivalent.

• Technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering preferred.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in plant maintenance, hospitality engineering, or a similar technical role.

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and drawings.

• Working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and industrial safety procedures.

• Basic understanding of boilers, water treatment systems, and emergency power systems is an asset.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Physically fit and able to work in plant rooms and confined spaces.

• Willingness to work shifts and participate in on-call rotation.
