Maintenance Person

Job Description

The Maintenance Person is responsible for the general upkeep, maintenance, and minor repair works of the condominium common areas and facilities. The role ensures that the property remains clean, safe, and in good working condition while supporting the Maintenance Coordinator in addressing maintenance requests and coordinating repairs when required. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks in the common areas of the condominium, including corridors, stairwells, garages, roofs, and external areas. 
  • Perform minor repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general handyman tasks where possible. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of the building to identify maintenance issues, safety hazards, or necessary repairs. 
  • Ensure lighting, door systems, intercoms, and other shared facilities are functioning properly. 
  • Asist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of common areas, including storage rooms and maintenance areas. 
  • Report maintenance issues or major repairs required to the Maintenance Coordinator. 
  • Assist in coordinating access for external contractors and service providers when specialised repairs are required. 
  • Support the Maintenance Coordinator during routine property inspections and maintenance checks. 
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of tools, equipment, and materials. 
  • Follow health and safety procedures while carrying out maintenance tasks. 
  • Respond to maintenance requests from residents related to common areas when directed by the Maintenance Coordinator. 
  • Perform any other duties related to building maintenance as required. 

 Knowledge and Skills Required

Basic knowledge of general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. 

Ability to identify maintenance issues and perform minor repair works independently. 

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 

Ability to use basic maintenance tools and equipment safely. 

Good organisational and time-management skills. 

Ability to communicate effectively with the Condominium Maintenance, residents, and contractors. 

Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently. 

Previous experience in building maintenance, handyman work, or property upkeep would be considered an asset.

Must possess a valid EU Maltese driving license
