Heavy Truck Driver
A Heavy Truck Driver / High Up Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy commercial vehicles to transport materials, equipment, or goods to designated locations.
Key Responsibilities
Heavy Truck Driving Duties:
- Operate heavy-duty trucks safely and efficiently for local and long-distance transportation.
- Transport goods, machinery, construction materials, or equipment according to delivery schedules.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of cargo.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logbooks, fuel reports, and trip documentation.
- Follow traffic laws, company policies, and road safety regulations at all times.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance needs immediately. Keep vehicles clean and in good operating condition.
- Coordinate with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and site supervisors.
High Up Truck Operating Duties:
- Operate High Up trucks, boom lifts, aerial work platforms, or similar elevated equipment safely.
- Position and stabilize equipment before lifting operations.
- Assist with lifting personnel, tools, and materials to elevated work areas.
- Perform routine safety checks and operational inspections on lifting equipment.
- Follow all height safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor worksite conditions to ensure safe operation around obstacles, power lines, and restricted areas. Communicate effectively with ground personnel during lifting operations.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications Valid Heavy Truck Driving License.
- Certification or experience operating High Up trucks, boom lifts, or aerial platforms.
- Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations. Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of loading and cargo securing procedures.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills. Physically fit and capable of handling demanding work conditions.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
