- Working with UNEC Servicing Ltd specializes in the repair and maintenance of prestigious brands such as DAF, Caterpillar, Cummins, Hyster, and Ingersoll Rand amongst others, the role will be based at the Freeport servicing and repairing quay cranes.
Role Overview: - Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of cranes and heavy machinery, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities: - Inspect mechanical components (hoists, trolleys, booms, gantries) for wear, misalignment, corrosion, and fatigue.
- Replace and adjust worn parts including cables, wire ropes, bearings, gears, brakes, and hydraulics.
- Service hydraulic and pneumatic systems; detect leaks and maintain system efficiency.
- Maintain and test electric and hydraulic motors for optimal performance.
- Repair structural and mechanical faults, including hoisting mechanisms, gearboxes, and load-bearing frames.
- Service brakes, safety devices, and sensors to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Lubricate wire ropes, bearings, gears, shafts, hydraulic systems, and guide rails to prevent wear and corrosion.
Qualifications: - Proven experience as a mechanical fitter in cranes or heavy machinery
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge
- Ability to perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs safely
