5 Axis Machine operator

We are looking for a highly skilled and precise 5-Axis CNC Machine Operator to join our advanced stone production team. In this specialized role, you will program, set up, and operate our 5-axis machinery to shape, profile, and carve premium stone, marble, and granite into intricate architectural designs, countertops, and custom pieces. This role involves shift work, including evening shifts, so flexibility is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities are but not limited to

• Set up, calibrate, and operate complex 5-Axis CNC machines
• Load, interpret, and adjust CNC programs, tool paths, and machine settings based on technical drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with the Machine Operator Helper to safely load raw materials and unload finished cuts
• Select, install, and maintain specialized diamond tooling, milling bits, and polishing heads.
• Inspect finished stone pieces with high precision using measuring tools (calipers, gauges) to ensure accuracy to blueprints.
• Test and monitor machine operations, troubleshooting and fixing technical issues or software overrides during the shift.
• Check final outputs for machine-related flaws, micro-cracks, or polishing defects.
• Collaborate with the Cutting Operator to ensure raw slab sizes match program requirements.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and records of approved and defective units.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, specifically operating 3 to 5-axis machinery (experience in stone/granite industry is a major asset).
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings
• Adherence to strict health and safety regulations 
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high-end quality finishes.
• Physical ability to work with heavy stone materials.
