Academic Content Architect

Knights College is a leading higher education institution in Malta, committed to fuelling the potential of every learner. We are expanding our AI-powered learning environment, Athena, and are looking for an Academic Content Architect to build the content that powers it. 

This is not a traditional teaching role. You will sit at the intersection of curriculum design, instructional design, and digital pedagogy — turning expert knowledge into structured, high-quality asynchronous learning content that students engage with independently, guided by Socrates, our intelligent AI tutoring layer. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

• Conduct knowledge-extraction interviews with subject tutors to surface core learning priorities. 
• Translate expert knowledge into clear, self-contained asynchronous learning units aligned to module outcomes.
• Design and structure content for AI-supported delivery through Athena and Socrates.
• Apply online pedagogy principles to sequence content and design activities for independent learners. 
• Maintain and refresh content annually, incorporating tutor feedback and student performance data.
• Establish content style guides and templates to ensure consistency across programmes. 
• Act as internal quality reviewer for asynchronous content. 
• Contribute a small portion of teaching aligned with your academic background (secondary).
