Role Overview

Our Client is seeking a Junior Associate Lawyer to support the Corporate and Commercial team in handling day-to-day legal work. The chosen candidate will work under the supervision of more experienced lawyers, gaining exposure to a variety of legal matters while developing core professional skills. This role is ideal for a recently warranted lawyer who is eager to learn and grow within a structured legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Legal Support: Assist senior lawyers with legal assignments and ongoing matters, ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

• Research and Preparation: Conduct legal research and prepare summaries, notes, and supporting documentation for internal and client use.

• Drafting Assistance: Support the preparation of contracts, corporate documents, and legal correspondence under supervision.

• Corporate Administration: Assist with routine company law matters including statutory filings, corporate records, and basic governance tasks.

• Regulatory Support: Provide assistance with compliance-related matters and help prepare documentation required for regulatory submissions.

• File Management: Maintain organised legal files and documentation to support efficient case management.

• Client Assistance: Support client-related work including preparing documents and assisting with meeting follow-ups.

• Administrative Support: Help coordinate tasks, deadlines, and documentation to ensure smooth workflow within the legal team.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Degree in Law and in possession of a warrant to practice law in Malta.

• Experience: Newly warranted lawyer or up to one year of post-qualification experience, ideally with exposure to corporate or commercial law.

• Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required to succeed in this role.

• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, particularly when preparing legal documentation.

• Interpersonal Skills: Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment.

• Technical Skills: Basic understanding of corporate and commercial legal principles.

• Organisation: Good organisational skills with the ability to manage assigned tasks effectively.

• Self-Motivated: Keen to learn and develop professionally with a proactive approach to work.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to approach tasks logically and seek guidance when required.
