Risk Officer - Insurance

We are working with an insurance company who are looking for a Risk Officer to join their team and report to the Risk Management in keeping the Risk Management function running.

Responsibilities

• Support the Risk Manager in maintaining and enhancing the Company's Risk Management Framework, including risk policies, systems, and processes.
• Coordinate risk assessments and maintain the Risk Register, ensuring risks are accurately identified, assessed, monitored, and reported.
• Monitor the Company's Risk Appetite Framework and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), escalating breaches and emerging risks where appropriate.
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory risk reporting, including the ORSA, SFCR, and RSR, through data collection, validation, and documentation.
• Contribute to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning while maintaining accurate and accessible risk management records.
• Collaborate with key business and control functions to promote a strong risk culture and support cross-functional risk, compliance, and governance initiatives.
• Prepare risk reports and Board/Committee materials, and provide support on ad hoc regulatory, operational, and second-line risk management activities as required.

Requirements

• 2+ years of local experience in the insurance market
• Knowledge of the insurance market, underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local regulatory environments and guidelines is considered a key requirement;
• Strong communication skills in both English and Maltese
• Available to occasionally travel abroad for work-related matters

Education and Experience

• Bachelor Degree is Insurance, Fiannce, Maths, Business or a relevent subject
