Our client is seeking to recruit for a Head of Distribution to join the team. The person will be responsible to drive profitable growth across all distribution channels.

Duties include: 

  • Develop and implement strategies for maximising revenue for all client segments, by developing tailored approaches for different client segments
  • Identify, develop and manage strategic partnership opportunities to support sustainable premium growth and diversification of distribution channels.
  • Develop and implement digital distribution strategies to expand, reach and improve efficiency in line with market trends.
  •  Ensure we are maximising possibilities for selling our products via all distribution channels.
  •  Identify product opportunities and threats in the market and create strategies to help the company overcome them.
  • Supports partners with ongoing review and consultation on distribution and underwriting performance initiatives.
  •  He/she maintains a high profile with key senior executives of clients
  • Establishes and maintains a positive profile in the industry and with key executive counterparts in client, agent and broker organisations.
  • Works closely with the COs and managers to drive innovation, collaboration, and data-driven decision making
  • Work with the managers of distribution channelsto prepare salesforecasts forshort- & long-term planning, oversee sales forecasts by customer groups.
  • Management of all staff operating the distribution channels, including KPI monitoring of same
  • Liaise with the Marketing team to coordinate the marketing activities related to the specific insurance products within the various distribution channels
  •  Inform all distribution channels about their newly developed insurance products and train them on how to upsell, cross-sell and originate new clients.
  • Mentors and trains all insurance staff for sales development. Cultivate and mentor a team of highly driven professionals with entrepreneurial mindsets and are in sync with the organization’s growth targets.
  • Operationally, coordinating with all stakeholders in Finance, HR, CX, Quality Assurance, Strategy, Product Development, IT, Marketing and Administration for the execution of related tasks relevant to distribution channels
  •  Ensure the implementation of the relevant QA and CX standardsin place for distribution channels.
  • Recommend enhancements to optimize customer experience
  • Support company objectives by providing ongoing analysis and results monitoring aligned with company strategic plan
  •  Analyse and review financial results, product profitability, business mix and competitive information and forecast performance.
  •  Participates on committees as a subject matter expert for distribution channels.
  •  Participate sin quarterly Board meetings to report on revenue, profitability, planning and business development results
  •  Consults with leaders and internal partners about analysis, ideas, innovation and business performance.
  • Support in the design of processes to simplify insurance acquisition for small businesses and individuals.
  •  Ensure that market conduct regulations, applicable areas of risk management and compliance are adhered to in all channels.

Requirements

  • 10–20+ years’ experience in insurance distribution, sales leadership and/or commercial strategy.
  • Exposure to both traditional and digital distribution models.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting principles, product design and insurance economics will be considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to manage significant revenue targets and multi-channel distribution strategies.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of insurance economics, including loss ratios, combined ratios, commission structures and channel profitability.
  • Ability to lead multi-channel distribution strategies, develop high-performing teams and drive operational excellence through scalable processes, governance and compliance.
  • Local experience is required
