Compliance Monitoring Manager

Our client, an International Insurance Company is looking to recruit a Compliance Monitoring Manager to join their team.

Main responsibilities : 

• Develop and maintain an effective compliance monitoring framework aligned with regulatory obligations and business objectives.
• Prepare and manage the annual compliance monitoring plan, including obtaining the necessary approvals.
• Act as part of the second line of defence across the UK and European operations, providing compliance oversight and guidance to the Specialty and Warranty & Consumer business areas.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the UK and Europe to enhance awareness and understanding of regulatory and compliance obligations.
• Monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring that any non-compliance issues are identified and addressed promptly.
• Conduct risk-based compliance reviews, focusing on areas of heightened regulatory exposure through structured assessments and analysis.
• Lead thematic reviews covering key regulatory topics across the Specialty and Warranty & Consumer divisions.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records to evidence compliance monitoring activities and fulfil internal and regulatory requirements.
• Support the business in resolving findings arising from compliance reviews and oversee remediation activities through to completion.
• Assist senior compliance leadership in evaluating and strengthening the compliance control framework.
• Produce meaningful management information and reporting for stakeholders, governance forums, and committees as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a compliance monitoring role within the insurance industry.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across UK and European business functions, as well as the wider compliance team.
• Good understanding of the insurance market, including consumer products.

Education and Experience

• Relevant professional qualification in compliance, insurance, or law.
• Degree educated or equivalent professional experience.
