Role Overview
Heroix is partnering with a leading organisation in the international education sector to recruit a Payroll Analyst (French Payroll) for its Malta-based operation. This role provides the opportunity to manage and support French payroll processes, ensuring compliance with French regulations, while contributing to process improvements and supporting employees in French-speaking regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • French Payroll Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of French payrolls, ensuring compliance with French regulations and internal standards.

  • Payroll Administration: Manage payroll updates including onboarding, offboarding, salary adjustments, statutory payments, bonuses, benefits administration, and timesheet validation for French employees.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a key point of contact for French-speaking employees, managers, and external service providers to address payroll-related queries and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Payroll Accounting: Prepare payroll reconciliations and journals for French payroll, ensuring correct upload into financial systems and alignment with accounting requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance French payroll processes, contribute to system implementations, and support ad hoc projects and cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in payroll, HR administration, or accounting, with proven experience managing French payroll systems. 

  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. Fluency in French is mandatory to support French payroll processes and liaise with French-speaking employees and service providers. 

  • Communication Skills: Clear, professional communicator capable of liaising confidently with French-speaking teams, managers, and third-party providers.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative team player with a respectful and service-oriented approach when supporting employees.

  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with French payroll systems and financial platforms is essential.

  • Organisation: Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.

  • Self-Motivated: Proactive, adaptable, and driven, with the initiative to take ownership of tasks and expand responsibilities.

  • Problem-Solving: Analytical and solutions-focused, able to resolve payroll discrepancies and respond effectively to changing requirements.
