Our client is looking to recruit a Deputy Pharmacist to join their growing team. The chosen canddiate will:

  • Support the Managing Pharmacist in the daily operations and overall management of the pharmacy.
  • Dispense and verify medications accurately while ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
  • Provide medication counselling and professional advice to customers regarding the safe and effective use of medicines.
  • Manage and support POYC services, including client registrations, entitlement updates, stock recording, and MUR reviews.
  • Assist in supervising, training, and supporting pharmacy staff to ensure an efficient workflow and high service standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels, support stock ordering, participate in stock takes, and assist with inventory reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, company procedures, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and support audit and inspection requirements.
  • Handle customer enquiries, requests, and complaints while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Promote pharmacy products and services and contribute towards achieving sales and performance targets.
  • Support merchandising activities and ensure products are displayed effectively.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor and manage expired stock while helping to minimise wastage.
  • Ensure clinic rooms are clean, organised, and fully equipped for healthcare professionals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assume responsibility for the pharmacy in the absence of the Managing Pharmacist.

Requirements

  • High level of flexibility and willingness to travel to different locations within the group
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and handle busy periods confidently
  • Attention to detail, a calm approach, and a commitment to high standards of patient care

Education and Experience

  • Warrant to practice as a Pharmacist in Malta
  • Proven experience in a community pharmacy setting is a must
  • Must be qualified within Europe as per laws and regulations
