Our client is currently seeking to recruit a PLC Process Engineer within their Processing Department. Your main responsibilities will be to: 

  • Examine production workflows to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in gathering and analysing operational data such as cycle times and efficiency metrics.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at improving productivity, quality, and workplace safety through structured improvement methods.
  • Explore and assess new techniques, tools, or technologies that may enhance operational performance.
  • Assist in introducing and integrating updated processes and systems into manufacturing environments.
  • Work alongside operations personnel to ensure smooth adoption of new methods.
  • Provide basic technical assistance to resolve routine production-related challenges.
  • Contribute to the development of basic tooling solutions, including fixtures and semi-automated setups.
  • Support installation, testing, and validation of new equipment or process modifications.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation such as work instructions and standard procedures.
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with internal standards and quality requirements.
  • Keep records accurate, up to date, and accessible for operational use.
  • Assist with supplier-related activities, including data gathering and preliminary cost evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support engineering and process improvement projects.
  • Contribute effectively to assigned tasks within broader project objectives.

Requirements

  • Good time management and attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Awareness of standard safety procedures, quality requirements, and operational guidelines within manufacturing.
  • Exposure to CAD software and PLC Programming.
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel or similar).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts (e.g., 5S, waste reduction, continuous improvement).

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is an asset.
