Salvo Grima Group is a dynamic group of companies specialising in distribution of consumer goods, duty-free travel retail and ship supply. Our Group was established in 1860 and today employs over 530 people in eight countries.

The International Business & Retail Unit is part of the Group distributing internationally renowned brands within the FMCG industry, also operating a line of travel retail shops. With its continuous growth, we are looking for a versatile and diligent individual to join our team as a Master Data & Process Controller.

The chosen candidate will own the day-to-day creation, maintenance, integrity, and governance of retail master data across systems, ensuring accurate and timely setup of products, pricing, promotions, suppliers, and customers to support operations, reporting, and commercial execution.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as owner of retail master data including the creation and updating of SKUs, pricing, promotion, customer, and supplier data etc;
  • Ensure data is entered in line with retail standards and business rules.
  • Validate completeness and correctness before data goes live (e.g., barcodes, pricing, categories);
  • Resolve data quality problems through the appropriate error detection processes;
  • Coordinate with buying, merchandising, and finance teams;
  • Monitor how data impacts sales, stock, promotions, and reporting;
  • Support store readiness by ensuring accurate data for POS systems;
  • Maintain data logs and basic documentation;
  • Support rollout of new products, promotions, and store openings from a data perspective;
  • Conduct periodic master data cleansing and de-duplication initiatives;
  • Document master data procedures (SOPs), request forms, and workflows;
  • Manage data rules as per the retail clusters and maintain data standards, naming conventions, and classification;
  • Act as a key systems reference point for the team;
  • Support cross-functional alignment on data structures, classifications, and setup requirements;
  • Understand and maintain consistency of master data standards across Group entities and systems.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in master data, retail administration, ERP support, or similar operational roles;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field; A Master’s degree will be considered an asset;
  • Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in French and/or Arabic being a strong advantage;
  • Background in a retail environment is a plus;
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills;
  • Experience working with ERP and/or POS systems;
  • High proficiency in Excel for lookups, pivots, data validation;
  • Process-driven, structured, and improvement-oriented.
