DoubleTree by Hilton Malta is seeking a skilled full-time Steward Team Leader to support the kitchen operations.
As a Steward Team Leader, you will work closely with the Chief Steward, and kitchen management team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency across all kitchen and back-of-house areas.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise, and coordinate the stewarding team to ensure efficient cleaning, organization, and availability of kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Ensure full compliance with hygiene, health, safety, and sanitation standards across all kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Train, guide, and motivate stewarding team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and hotel standards.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to support smooth operations during peak service periods, events, and banquets.
• Oversee waste management processes, ensuring proper disposal and recycling procedures are followed.
• Conduct regular inspections of dishwashing areas, storage rooms, and equipment, reporting maintenance issues promptly to ensure operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
• Proven experience in a stewarding or kitchen support role, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hygiene standards, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
