About the Department

The regulation and supervision of company service providers falls within the remit of the MFSA and in fact the MFSA has a specific function designated with the responsibility for the authorisation as well as the supervision of company service providers. The function's main objective is to ensure that licensed company service providers have the appropriate structures and systems in place to service clients adequately whilst at the same time preserving their reputation as well as Malta's reputation, taking into account our international commitments. A mixture of tools are utilised with respect to supervision, consisting of both supervisory engagements such as inspections as well as offsite work and thematic assessments.

About the Role

Within this role you will be responsible for performing the following tasks: - Provide technical expertise and contribute to supervisory reviews and engagements including on-site inspections and regulatory assessments; - Participate in and support projects and initiatives, including thematic reviews, focused examinations and gap analysis, whilst providing specialist input and recommendations where required; -Act as a point of reference for colleagues and provide guidance and support to promote the effective and consistent delivery of supervisory activities; - Assist in coordinating supervisory workstreams and contribute to the delivery of supervisory objectives within established deadlines; - Support the development and implementation of the function's supervisory work programme through technical input, analysis and recommendations. - Participate in meetings with Authorised Persons, competent authorities and other stakeholders Contribute to internal working groups, cross-functional projects and regulatory initiatives by providing subject matter expertise and technical analysis. - Undertake ad hoc reviews, research assignments and supervisory tasks related to emerging regulatory matters, sector developments or identified risks, and communicate findings and recommendations as appropriate.

About you

We are looking for candidates with solid academic background in Law, Finance, Accountancy and Banking or in any other finance related background.

The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level, and a minimum of seven (7) years experience in a related area.

If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least thirteen (13) years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.

The selected candidate is expected to be a confident individual who feels at ease working in a multidisciplinary environment, is flexible, proactive, dynamic, has the ability to prioritise tasks, has a critical and analytical mind-set and a high attention to detail even when under time pressure. The individual is also required to demonstrate good research and have excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
