The Regulatory & IDD Officer supports the Senior Regulatory & IDD Officer in ensuring that the company complies with all applicable regulatory requirements, including but not limited to those derived from the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD).
The role contributes to the development, implementation, and monitoring of the company’s broader regulatory and compliance framework. This includes assessing regulatory developments, supporting internal stakeholders, assisting with regulatory compliance projects, and strengthening governance practices related to insurance distribution and general regulatory obligations.
Main ActivitiesRegulatory Compliance:
· Monitor, analyse and interpret changes in regulatory requirements (IDD and other relevant regulations).
· Develop, update and maintain internal regulatory policies and procedures to ensure compliance
· Conduct regulatory risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
· Contribute to the management of regulatory compliance projects initiated to reach or maintain compliance with evolving regulations.
· Act as a point of contact with regulatory bodies when required for IDD and regulation
IDD Governance:
· Ensure compliance with IDD provisions, including fair treatment of customers, training and competence requirements, and disclosure obligations.
· Support the creation and review of Product Oversight and Governance (POG) arrangements.
· Conduct periodic audits of IDD compliance within the organization.
Distributor Monitoring:
· Monitor the compliance of distributors with applicable regulatory requirements, including IDD provisions and internal compliance standards.
· Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of distributors’ IDD compliance.
· Review, analyse, and track KPIs designed to assess distributors’ regulatory compliance performance.
· Identify gaps in distributor compliance and support the implementation of corrective actions.
· Maintain documentation of distributor assessments, monitoring results, and follow‑up actions as part of the compliance oversight framework.
· Support the development and enhancement of monitoring tools, dashboards, and methodologies used to oversee distributor compliance.
Training and Education:
· Assist the Senior Regulatory & IDD Officer in the development and delivery of training programs related to regulatory and IDD requirements.
· Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of employee training activities, certifications, and compliance with ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) requirements.
Monitoring and Reporting:
· Monitor compliance activities and prepare reports for senior management and regulators.
· Maintain compliance registers, including complaints, breaches, and risks related to insurance distribution.
· Escalate issues or breaches to the appropriate internal stakeholders.
· Monitor distributors, outsourcing providers and customer satisfaction indicators
Stakeholder Collaboration:
· Work closely with legal, risk, and operational teams to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance.
· Provide advice and support to business units on regulatory and IDD-related matters.
Continuous Improvement:
· Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices, through training, seminars and conferences.
· Proactively identify opportunities to improve compliance processes and frameworks.
Requirements:Degree or equivalent in Law, Compliance, or a related field.
Knowledge of or experience with the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) and relevant regulations.
Previous experience in a similar regulatory compliance role is advantageous.
Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
Fluent in English; knowledge of French or another European language is a plus.
