VACANCY: Veterinary Nurse

Full-Time | Up to €25,000 per annum for the right candidate
Are you a compassionate, skilled Veterinary Nurse looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference? We are a small clinic that takes pride in offering a more thorough and personalised approach to every patient. We are seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Nurse to join our team and work closely with our veterinarian.
As a valued member of our close-knit team, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, individualised care in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Assisting our veterinarian during consultations, examinations, and surgical procedures
• Assisting with anaesthesia and providing close patient monitoring during procedures and throughout recovery (including vital signs, anaesthetic depth, and immediate post-operative care)
• Administering medications, treatments and vaccinations as directed
• Monitoring patient vital signs and providing high-quality post-operative and critical care
• Performing and assisting with diagnostic procedures (laboratory tests, radiography, etc.)
• Preparing and maintaining surgical instruments, equipment, and the clinical environment
• Safe and compassionate animal handling and restraint
• Maintaining accurate medical records and patient files
• Educating and supporting pet owners on home care and wellness
• Assisting with reception and administrative duties when required
• Working collaboratively to ensure the smooth running of the clinic
Requirements:
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience as a Veterinary Nurse in a veterinary clinic or similar setting
• A recognised qualification in Veterinary Nursing (MCAST Diploma/Degree or equivalent) is highly desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English is essential; Maltese language skills are a strong advantage
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
• Computer literate (experience with practice management software is an asset)
• Flexible, reliable and willing to work shifts including weekends
• Genuine passion for animal welfare and delivering outstanding patient care
