Veterinary Nurse

We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and organised individual to join our veterinary team as a Veterinary Nurse. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the necessary skills to support our veterinarians while also delivering excellent customer service at reception. This is a varied role combining hands-on nursing responsibilities with front-of-house administrative duties to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.

Monitor and record the health and behaviour of animals in our care.

Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.

Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.

Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the clinic, including sterilisation of instruments and equipment.

Assist with the management of inventory and supplies, including ordering and restocking as needed.

Welcome clients in a professional and friendly manner, providing an excellent first impression of the clinic.

Answer telephone calls, emails, and client enquiries promptly and professionally.

Schedule appointments, manage the veterinary diary, and coordinate bookings efficiently.

Process payments, issue invoices, and assist with administrative tasks as required.

Register new patients and maintain accurate client and patient records.

Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the reception area and assist colleagues wherever required.

Requirements

A diploma or degree in Veterinary Nursing or a related field.

Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred.

Previous reception, customer service, or administrative experience is considered an asset.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and work collaboratively with colleagues.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a busy environment.

High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Compassionate, empathetic, and professional approach to both animal care and client service.

Good computer literacy and confidence using veterinary practice management software and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
