Role Overview

Heroix is collaborating with a respected professional services firm seeking an experienced Senior Audit Associate to strengthen its growing Audit team. This position is suited to an ambitious audit professional who enjoys leading assignments, working closely with clients, and mentoring junior colleagues while delivering high-quality audit and assurance services across a varied client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit Leadership: Take responsibility for managing audit engagements from initial planning through to completion, ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently and in accordance with professional standards.
• Financial Reporting Compliance: Review financial information to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and audit methodologies.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, gaining a thorough understanding of their operations and providing a high standard of service throughout the audit process.
• Advisory Support: Identify opportunities to enhance clients' financial processes and internal controls, offering practical recommendations that add value to their business.
• Team Collaboration: Provide guidance and support to junior audit team members, encouraging knowledge sharing and contributing to the successful delivery of engagements.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Education: Fully ACCA qualified or in possession of an equivalent internationally recognised accounting qualification.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience within external audit, with the ability to independently manage audit assignments.
• Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese.
• Communication Skills: Confident in communicating with clients and colleagues, presenting information clearly and maintaining professional relationships at all levels.
• Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative team player with the ability to establish trust, work effectively with stakeholders, and contribute positively to a professional environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of auditing principles and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, while advanced Microsoft Excel skills will be considered an advantage.
• Organisation: Excellent planning and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements, prioritise workloads, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, adaptability, and a positive approach to achieving individual and team objectives.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, sound judgement, and the ability to identify risks while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
