Head of Client Accounting and Tax

Our client is a company operating within the accounting, audit, tax, and business advisory sector.

• Lead and manage the Client Accounting and Tax Department, ensuring the effective delivery of accounting, tax, and advisory services;
• Oversee a portfolio of local and international clients, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, corporate tax, VAT, and statutory obligations;
• Review management accounts, financial statements, consolidations, and complex accounting matters prepared under GAPSME and IFRS;
• Provide technical guidance on accounting standards, taxation matters, and financial reporting requirements;
• Develop, implement, and enhance departmental procedures, internal controls, and workflow processes to improve operational efficiency, quality, and consistency;
• Support the ongoing development of the accounting and tax function while ensuring a high standard of client service;
• Assist with additional accounting, tax, and advisory responsibilities as required.

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification);
• Strong knowledge of Maltese accounting standards, VAT, and corporate tax legislation;
• Previous leadership experience within an accounting, tax, or professional services environment;
• Experience managing client portfolios, leading teams, and overseeing operational delivery;
• Strong commercial awareness with experience in client relationship management and business development.
