Supply Chain, Transport & Warehousing

Within this job of a Senior Buyer you will be the right hand person of the Site Purchasing Manager within a manufacturing environment while based in Malta.  Your main responsibility will include the following:

  • Assist with the team management:  leading and development
  • Lead and Execute the purchasing strategies
  • Grow the sourcing base while developing long term relationships with vendors
  • Monitor market trends,  competitor strategies and market suppliers
  • Perform cost analysis and benchmarking exercises to ensure best solutions are made and budgets met
  • Ensure suppliers are meeting company’s expectations and standards whilst mitigating risks if any
  • Manage Tenders and Contracts while working closely with all involved parties
  • Suggest process improvements and tools to boost efficiency  

Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain or a relevant procurement qualification is a must
  • At least 5 years experience in a purchasing role within a manufacturing set up
  • Deep understanding of managing tenders and contracts
  • Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems - Lean, planning, MRP/ERP
  • Professional level of English is a must 
  • Proven track record of negotiating skills and procurement savings
  • Have strong knowledge of using MS Office tools


  • Excellent communication skills with leadership qualities
  • Able to multitask and thrive when working under pressure
  • Strong negotiation skills
