A new job as Head of R&D is now available in Malta. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations you will be responsible for:

  • The coordination of all R&D functions including the industrialization and validation of processes
  • Evaluation of contract project proposals, technical liaison and management of projects with internal and third-party clients
  • Providing technical support to the manufacturing plant when required
  • Overseeing and implementing strategies and R&D lifecycle development, regulatory affairs, and R&D quality assessment
  • Achieving R&D objectives within approved timelines and budgets
  • Optimising development strategies

Education and Experience

  • A University Degree in Chemistry and Biology or Pharmacy. Postgraduate studies will be considered as an asset 
  • Experience in process development and validation in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, ideally with a track record in formulation development and project management
  • 3 years experience within a management position


  • Excellent organization, management and communications skills
  • Professional fluency in English is required
  • Be capable of working on one’s own initiative as well as part of a management team
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and project planning-capabilities, as well as a pro-active approach to getting things done
