Debono Group in Malta is looking to recruit a self-motivated and enthusiastic Polisher/Detailer to join their team on a full-time basis. He/She will also be able to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines. Candidates having automotive experience will be given preference, the role will entail starting a Polisher/Detailer with the aim to expand into a paint sprayer. The primary purpose of the role is to polish vehicles after they have been refinished, working in accordance with both the factory and the dealerships specifications. 


Areas of Responsibility:
  • Colour sands, buffs, polishes and glazes refinished body panels
  • Examines finished surfaces of the vehicle to verify their conformance to the set specification
  • Retouches any defective areas
  • Reviews refinished body panels, in conjunction with the refinish technician, as needed
  • Assists in all other areas of the body shop as needed
  • Quality Checks
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The individual will be required to:
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs
  • Must be able to comfortably wear all safety and protective equipment, including a respirator when operating equipment
  • Not suffer from any medical (respiratory) conditions.


Essential:
  • Preferably, Inspection & polishing experience
  • A clean driving license
  • A reasonable command of both written and spoken Maltese and English.
