A vacancy has arisen for a Night Security Officer on a part-time basis at the Seashells Resort at Suncrest Malta. Under the general guidance and supervision of the Chief Security and/or Assistant General Manager, and within the limits of the established hotel policies and procedures.

Night Security Officer' Responsibilities:

  • To patrol frequently all areas of the hotel and its outlets (Cheeky Monkey Gastro Pub, Luzzu Restaurant, Conference and Lido)
  • To ensure that all outside area doors and windows, including stores are closed and locked.
  • To check all office doors and administration areas
  • Sequence of these checks will be regularly varied so as not to present a pattern
  • To keep full control of keys, ensuring they are kept in the key cabinet/boxes provided and given out against a signature in the registry
  • To ensure that the keys that have been returned are signed off by the respective individual
  • To ensure that all members of staff are punching in and out on each occasion
  • To check contents of all bags being taken out of the hotel at the time of exit
  • To ensure that no leftovers of any kind are permitted to be taken out from the hotels
  • On hearing the fire bells ringing, to check that the fire exits and doors are open and nothing is obstructing the doors
  • Controls and directs any suppliers or visitors coming in the premises
  • Give First Aid assistance when required
  • To report and investigate anything that seems suspicious
  • Ensure all incidents and/or accidents in the hotel / Cheeky Monkey Gastro Pub / Luzzu Restaurant, Conference and Lido are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the manager
  • To be acquainted of the fire alarm system, be aware of the fire procedures including evacuation and security procedures
  • Monitor the CCTV system
  • Make sure that all items going out of the hotel are registered in an Outgoing Record duly authorised as per procedure
  • Ensure that all goods entering the hotel are checked and the proper documentation is done in accordance to the recognised procedures
  • Give proper handover at time of changing of the shifts
  • The employee is also expected to perform any duties as per operations requirements as instructed by the Chief Security and/or Assistant General Manager which are deemed necessary

Night Security Officer's Requirements:

  • A good standard of education
  • Computer Literate
  • Fluency in English Language
  • Be smart in appearance
  • Able to work on his/her own initiative
  • Of a strong character
  • Has a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position
  • The post requires for a candidate to be available to work night shifts – Monday to Sunday
