IT Systems Administrator

Ably Resources Limited in Malta is currently looking to recruit an IT Systems Administrator to join their client's team on a full-time basis.

About the client:
Our Client is an international Insurance organisation with branches throughout Malta and Gozo.

Job Role:
The ideal individual will be passionate about applying skills to a technology-based business. 
The IT Systems supporting the business is imperative and as such a Systems Administrator with the desire to grow his or her career is required.
The Systems Administrator will protect our critical information, systems, and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy. From an early stage, this person will be given challenging assignments, lead initiatives, and take ownership and responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Performing server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together
• Monitoring data centre health using pre-existing management tools and responding to hardware issues as they arise; helping build, test, and maintain new servers as needed
• Maintaining internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, and security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
• Interacting with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identifying the root cause, and providing technical support when needed
• Performing routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups.

Requirements:

• Preferable possess a minimum of 3 years of work experience in IT
• Possess relevant professional certificates and/or education
• Have experience with operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
• Demonstrate experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure)
• Have knowledge of Windows and Unix system administration, Microsoft Office 365 and VMware.
