Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa is looking to recruit an IT Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. 

Position Summary: 
Responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading IT-related activities, you will help determine the IT needs of the hotel and be responsible for IT systems to fulfill the hotel’s information systems requirements, all aligned to Marriott International brand standards. You would also be leading the daily support and maintenance of our IT systems, efficiently and professionally supporting colleagues and guests alike solving IT related issues

Essential Functions:
  • Ensure secure IT operations by implementing and managing all systems to the Global Information Security Policies, Divisional IT Policies/Procedures, and Internal Controls. 
  • Manage administrative user access rights and restrictions in all systems. 
  • Directly responsible to develop, maintain and test Contingency and Disaster Recovery plans, and maintain and verify data backup integrity and verify restoration tests. 
  • Ensure all IT requirements and electronic data protection, privacy, retention, and destruction requirements are met according to Company IT Policies
  • Ensure appropriate and timely management of IT contracts, support, and licensing including managing service level agreements.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call duties as required.
  • Coordinate all activities, operations, user support, and running of IT. 
  • Monitor and evaluate on-site technology support requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate environmental controls for all data processing facilities.
  • Ensure adherence to all IT-related operational and brand standards.
  • Manage IT capital and expense budget planning for the location.
  • Review and approve all IT equipment and software purchases and participate in Company-negotiated purchasing, pricing, and licensing programs as appropriate.
  • Provide effective communication and collaboration on the technology needs of the location.

Desired skills:
  • Minimum of two years in management or supervisory position responsible for the ongoing operation of Information Technology/Systems.
  • Working knowledge of VMware and Veeam, basic networking skills, knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365 Administration and knowledge on computer hardware and configurations
  • Preferably previous hospitality IT experience, knowledge of central reservations systems, networking, and additional IT certifications.
  • The candidate must exhibit strong personal confidence, willingness to learn continuously, being a team player, and be able to work independently and under pressure.
