AptechUK Limited is looking to recruit an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their team on a temporary/contract basis. 

Duties: 
  • Technically hands-on leader for the Infrastructure team.
  • Lead the implementation, administration and support of the Infrastructure (inc Windows/Linux Servers physical/virtual, pcs, firewalls, F5s, SCCM, WSUS, LogRhythm, Solarwinds etc).
  • Lead Level 2 support for both HID and 3rd party provided infrastructure.
  • Lead from a technical perspective the root cause analysis to determine both the best course of action for Restorations and Resolutions of incidents in systems, processes, and services, and assist with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventive measures.
  • Participate in ‘Core Teams’ as required, either in the role of the Service Lead or within the supporting Solutions Quality Assurance, Deployment, and Service teams supporting the Core Team Service Lead by taking on the Implementation lead role, etc.
  • Experience in planning and assigning tasks for the team; report on team activities and trends.
  • Being an example and inspiring others in the team to harmonious success to meet agreed service levels, including recruitment, appraisal, and personal development for team members.
  • Coach and support less experienced members of the team.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Infrastructure and environment, providing expert advice regarding their use.
  • Specifies and designs systems. Selects appropriate design standards, methods, and tools, consistent with agreed architectures and ensures they are applied effectively. Reviews others' systems design to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.
  • Ensures that the system design balances functional, service quality, security, and systems management requirements.
  • Lead the generation and maintenance of all technical system documentation, ensuring proper version control is employed in accordance with the latest standards.
  • Liaise with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers as required, supporting their Level 3 investigations into incidents/problems/requests escalated to them.
  • Assist in the day-to-day support for all technical matters in the territory and work closely with local support companies.
  • Assist with maintaining and testing disaster recovery and fail-over procedures.
  • Assist in the support of the IT systems at the Malta factory as well as the customer-facing systems.
  • Ensure IT compliance standards are maintained as appropriate for independent auditing, implement and champion best practice processes.
  • Ensure quality is built-in throughout the project life cycle through document reviews, and by managing testing activities to assure the quality of all project deliverables including hardware, software, and documentation.
  • Become fully conversant with the Infrastructure, how the various software and hardware components interact, and the infrastructure design as specified in the relevant contracts.
  • Always act and behave in a way compliant with all HID company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environmental Health and Safety, ethics, and codes of conduct.
  • Always follow a best practice methodology such as ITIL, including good change management practices while carrying out duties and actions.
  • Be part of the on-call support roster.
  • Some travel abroad may be required (implementation, training, FATs, UATs, SATs, CATs, occasional Level 2 support visits, etc).
  • To perform the Master CAO, CAO, and System Administrator Trusted Roles as per the Trusted Role Procedure and associated Terms of Reference, and the holding of credentials. 
Requirements:
  • The candidates applying must have 3 years plus experience.
